ECCPASA exists to promote safe and healthy communities free from alcohol and other substance abuse.
The Erie County Council for the Prevention of Alcohol and Substance Abuse, Inc. is committed to building safe, healthy and resilient communities free from alcohol and other drug abuse.

Founded in 1948, ECCPASA is a proven provider of quality prevention and intervention services utilizing research-based strategies and programs.

It is an affiliate of the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence, Inc. and the National Association for Children of Alcoholics. ECCPASA operates under contract with the Erie County Department of Mental Health and is funded by the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services, school districts and municipalities throughout Erie County, individuals, corporations and community service organizations. It is also a member agency of the United Way of Buffalo and Erie County.

To encourage and support the continued study of the problems of alcoholism, alcohol and other substance abuse.
To work toward community awareness and education, and assist in the provision of the information and resources necessary to accomplish this.
To prevent alcoholism and other substance abuse for all people in communities within Erie County.
To break the intergenerational cycle of alcoholism and other substance abuse.
To advocate for safe and healthy communities free from alcohol and other substance abuse.
